Featured Oahu Favorite: Aloha Stadium Swap Meet & Marketplace

Today, Hubs and I ventured out to get some exercise and bargains at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet & Marketplace.  Tourists and Kama'aina (the Hawaiian word for a local resident) shop here for great deals on a variety of goods, like food & snacks; new items like t-shirts and souvenirs; to second-hand household items.

We walked around the entire stadium, and noticed that we saw many repeated items in the stalls with all about the same prices, but there were some unique and hand-made items as well.

Our purchases today were: 2 t-shirts with a Hawaii theme {of course!} for $5.00 each; a pair of car seat covers for our new car at $25.00 for the set {including the headrest covers}; a pretty, feminine beach cover-up for me, $9.00; an "Aloha shirt" with vintage war planes for my all-things-airplane-lovin' Hubs, $10.00; and a small wooden flip-flop magnet for the fridge, just $2.00.  We took our own bag with us, which I recommend that you do if you can.

Other offerings included freshly baked Hawaiian sweet bread {we had a taste, and it's yummmmy!}; ice-cold coconuts; hand-carved turtles and surf-board replicas; fruits and vegetables from local farms; dresses and shirts galore; toys and games; jewelry; art; and of course the island favorite: Shave Ice!

If you are making plans to visit our beautiful island, check out Aloha Stadium Swap Meet & Marketplace!
If you've already been there, I'd LOVE to hear from you in the comments section below, and tell me what you brought home from Oahu...besides a suntan!
