Wouldn't you know that, as I'm wondering if I should choose another "word of the year", my daughter texted me the perfect word! Renew! Since our move from Texas to Colorado in October, I've had the feeling that 2018 will be a time of renewal for us.
Let me tell you about why the word "Renew" seems to speak directly to my heart.

During the last 3 years in Texas, it felt as if Ed & I were in a holding pattern, waiting until we could move on! Ed was working to gain extra experience in his career field, and now those years have helped him to secure a much better job here in Colorado.

Most of my regular readers will know that Ed & I are Christians and dedicated to the Lord. However, sometimes even Christians get into a "dry spell", and it can be difficult to find the right place to worship, and feel like we fit in. While we were living in Texas, we started watching a church that streams it's services online. We had visited this church several times when our youngest daughter lived here in Colorado. We enjoyed watching the services every week, and now we are attending there in person! It's our desire to renew our church involvement and get to know like-minded folks, and make new friends.Settling In
Ed and I enjoy getting to know our new city & state. We
love finding new places to explore and have
new adventures together. One of the first things we did was buy a big
book about the best places to see in Colorado! We've already visited Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, and plan on returning there to see more of the park.
Renewing Dreams of Buying our Forever Home
During our 26 years of Ed's Air Force career, we didn't always want to go to where we were assigned, but we always made the best of things and we made a happy home life wherever we went. Now we are FINALLY in Colorado, and hopefully there will only be one more move in our future, when we buy our forever home here. For the first time, Ed and I want to settle in, settle down, and plant roots.
"Brushed Up Furniture & More" & "Journeys With Juju"
Last year, I embarked on a new business venture: "Brushed Up Furniture & More" where I purchase (or find free) furniture that needs refreshing and give it a makeover to help it shine again. I am excited to renew my hobby business here in Colorado, bringing worn out furniture pieces back to life!
I am also looking forward to renewing my blogging efforts and sharing more about my journey with you. My goal is to continue to share ideas & projects, and to give you a glimpse into the next steps on our journey!
